our story

It Started With A Question

Long before Pho ChopstiX had a sign on Mason Road, there was a little girl in Vietnam riding home from dinner with her family. They loved eating out — hole-in-the-wall pho shops, busy banh mi stands, restaurants worth crossing town for. And every single time, while everyone else talked about their day, she sat quietly replaying the meal in her head. What was in that broth? How did they get the pork that tender? What would happen if…?

So she started trying. She'd go home and remake the dishes she couldn't stop thinking about — but never exactly the way she'd had them. She changed things. Her own spices, her own timing, her own recipes. Sometimes it flopped. But sometimes, it came out better — and that feeling hooked her for life. What started as curiosity became a hobby, and the hobby became a quiet mission: take something delicious, and find the way to make it even more so.

"There is always a way to make something better."

She didn't cook for herself. She cooked for the people around her — family dinners, friends crowded around her table, everyone tasting her latest experiment. And the plates kept coming back empty. The people who loved her cooking said the same thing so many times it stopped sounding like a compliment and started sounding like an instruction: you have to share this.

So she did. Pho ChopstiX is that little girl's kitchen, grown up — every broth simmered from real bones, every roll folded by hand, every recipe hers, tested and re-tested until it beat the version she remembered. She opened this restaurant for one simple reason: she wants everyone to taste her cooking. Because for her, food is a language — every dish is her way of letting you understand her taste, of showing you exactly what delicious means to her. Pull up a chair. You're who she's been cooking for all along.
